Due to its vast size and wide range of geographic features, the United States contains variety of nearly every global climate. The climate is temperate in many areas and subtropical in the Southern United States while tropical in many areas of   Hawaii and southern Florida. It is polar in Alaska and semiarid in the Great Plains west of the 100th meridian while it is Mediterranean in most coastal California and mostly arid in the Great Basin. It’s comparatively favorable agricultural climate contributed (in part) to the country’s rise as a world power, with infrequent severe drought in the major agricultural regions, a general lack of widespread flooding, and a mostly temperate climate that receives adequate precipitation. The main affect on U.S. weather is the polar jet stream which migrates northward into Canada in the warmer months and then southward into the USA in the colder months. The jet stream brings in large low pressure systems from the northern Pacific Ocean that comes in the US mainland over the Pacific Northwest. The Cascade Range, Sierra Nevada, and Rocky Mountains pick up most of the moisture from these systems as they move eastward. The Great Basin and Columbia Plateau (the Intermontane Plateaus) are arid or semiarid regions that lie in the rain shadow of the Cascades and Sierra Nevada. Generally, Precipitation averages less than 15 inches (38 cm). The Southwest is a hot desert, with temperatures exceeding 100 °F (37.8 °C) for many weeks at a time in summer. Another significant (but localized) weather effect  is lake-effect snow that falls south and east of the Great Lakes, especially in the hilly portions of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and  on the Tug Hill Plateau in New York. The lake effect dumped well over 5 feet (1.52 m) of snow in the area of Buffalo, New York throughout the 2006-2007 winters. The Wasatch Front and Wasatch Range in Utah can also receive significant lake effect accumulations from the Great Salt Lake.

Tundra and arctic conditions predominate in northern Alaska, and the temperature has fallen as low as −80 °F. On the other end, Death Valley, California once reached the highest temperature ever recorded on Earth i.e., 134 °F (56.7 °C).  Mount Rainier in Washington, at 692 inches (1,758 cm)) has the greatest annual snowfall level, the record there was 1,122 inches.

In simple terms, the continental United States is dissected by a vast central plain (the Great Plains) from just west of the Great lakes, south to the Gulf of Mexico. The western third of the country is covered by the massive Rocky Mountain system and many other mountains ranges and hills. In the east, the much-lower Appalachian Mountains and its assorted ranges front a broad coastal plain that stretches from the far-northeast to the southern Texas coastline on the Gulf of Mexico. That coastal plain of the southern and southeastern U.S extends to the continental shelf and is generally characterized by level (flat) land with assorted mixed forests. The coastal areas include bayous, deltas, marshes, mud flats and swamps. USA is great country to live, to grow with limitless natural resources present  but USA is lagging behind from tiny countries  in some field like health care, wastage of food, expensive college education, costly wifi service etc.

Wastage of food in USA is much more than other countries like France  has better plans. It banned the disposal of unsold food by any means which should be either donated  to poors and needy peoples or given for the charity or it should be used as the animal food and this strategy work for them well. USA colleges world famous for education  for all type of courses but college education fees and loans are very costly than many other countries like Germany, Iceland, Brazil, Norway. Some countries even provide free tution fee education.  Also Wifi services of USA is slower as well as  very costly than many other countries  because wifi infrastructure is controlled by few companies like Time Warners or Comcat. It is much like the monopoly in this field result in high prices  and lousy services while some small countries  like Estonia provide free wifi servicesw in their countries. USA is also behind in math and science education from many countries like  from many European and asian countries.

USA is greatest  country with highest GDP  and limitless natural resources , home of brave and  federal republic government . for best or worst, but USA is the only country who used the nuclear weopen on any other country.
